Week 3 – 3 Aug

In class Brady and me decided on which ideas to use for our main storyline. Then we started working on a draft for our story (not screenplay); it was so when we were going to write our screenplay we had something to look on to instead of just trying to remember everything. Here is an early version of the story (unfinished, and it’s the formatting is hard to understand if you’re not me):

Oh Nose!
Snoop is in an underpass spray-painting his trademark tag “SNOOP”. After a while Snoop walks off and calls Larry.

Larry is outside with his friends when he receives a phone call from Snoop. Larry leaves he friends and goes his car to pick up Snoop.
…
Larry picks up snoop in his car and then goes off to Joe’s house.
…
Joe is sitting at a desk, working (at his house). Snoop and Larry arrive at his house, Snoop sits down on the couch and starts watching TV. Larry goes over to talk to Joe.

Few Hours later…
…
Joe, Larry, and snoop are sitting on the couch and talking, after a while Joe goes into another room for something. After Joe leaves the room Snoop asks Larry for money, when Larry refuses Snoop takes his nose and leaves the house, Larry turns into a zombie.

Joe comes back into the room to find that Snoop has stolen Larry’s nose. Joe gets his “iNose” out and realizes that Snoop is right outside.

Joe goes outside to find that Snoop has transformed into a dog, (snoop also drops his “snoop” chain and Bling). Snoop(-dogg) runs away, Joe goes back into the house to get Larry. Larry keeps running into the door of the car

Week 2 – 27 Jul

Most of this week was spent discussing our story, we thought of lots of different ways to manipulate the story; some of the major ideas/changes were:

-Joe having 3 brothers

-Thought of the character names (Joe, Larry, Snoop)

-Main villain in the movie being one of Joe’s brothers

-Choosing personalities for Joe and his brothers and discussing how to give them the personality in the film

-Structure of our screenplay

Personally I researched a few things:

-Tips on makeing a short film work

-Editing

-Filming tips

And we watched this in class!

Week 1 – 20 Jul - zahid

Brady and me pretty much decided that we were going to make a short film for our major project because we thought the other methods were too time consuming.
We started to brainstorm ideas for a story, our first idea that we thought could work was:

‘Joe’s father recently passed away and a family amulet was passed down to him. Some one steals the amulet and Joe goes on to investigate who took it.’

But our teacher thought the idea was too unoriginal, and she gave us the idea (probley as a joke) to changing the amulet to a nose.

We thought it was a great idea and kept adding things we could add to the story. By the end of the week we had a rough idea of what our story was going to be about.
